Sock
yarns just keep coming through the door and they're not
just for socks. Check out some of Stephen West's
patterns on Ravelry -- he does wonderful scarves and
shawls with sock yarn -- using a mix of solid and
multis. New in on the sock yarn front are some new
colors from Scarlet Fleece in Grassy Wool - a bamboo,
superwash merino blend. Also in, Everlasting from
Dream in Color in fantastic semi-solid colorways.
If tonal colorways are your thing, then check out the
Misti Alpaca sock yarn in tonal colors. But if you
want colors galore, come in and see the Bearfoot from
Mountain Colors. (Bearfoot is in the basket,
pictured above.) A box just came in from Claudia
Handpaints -- you know that means even more great sock
yarns. Come in and see what folks are doing with
these great yarns.

Lace for Spring!
Even
through we got some more snow overnight, Spring
is just around the corner. That's a great
time to start thinking about lace and shawls.
New to the shop is Scarlet Fleece's Trinity
Lace. Trinity is 40% Corriedale Wool (from
Charlottesville, VA), 30% American Cashmere and
30% silk. With 800 yards on each hand-dyed
hank, it's an outstanding value at $33 per hank.
Also in, new colors of Silky Alpaca Lace from
Classic Elite Yarns. This yarn is a lace
knitter's bargain, at $12 per 440 yard ball for
the hand paints and $10 for the solids.
Check out the free pattern for the
Lowell Cowell, designed by Toni Shankland,
one of our favorite yarn reps.
